Honestly? I was tired.
No matter how much I earned, it felt like money was pouring out faster than it came in.
I was working all the hours God sent, and no matter how much I earned, it felt like money was pouring out faster than it came in. I wasn’t spending on anything wild. It just kept going. So I started looking for something that could steady things and give me some breathing room.
I knew I wanted to build an app. I just had no idea which app.
Then I started reading about ADHD, because I thought my son might have it. Somewhere in all that reading, I recognised myself. The late payments. The forgotten renewals. The direct debit I meant to cancel months ago.
It wasn’t that I couldn’t afford things. It was that keeping track of them took a kind of attention my brain doesn’t hand out on demand.
So I decided to build the thing I needed.
What bothered meThe deeper I got, the more something else bothered me. So much of how money works seems to rely on people forgetting. Free trials that quietly roll into payments. Prices that creep up unless you ring and haggle. Charges tucked where you won’t look. For brains like mine, that isn’t a small leak.
Luura started as something to help me. It became something to help us push back.
I didn’t want to throw a few prompts at a tool and call it an app. I wanted to build it from scratch, and think hard about every screen, every word and every notification, so it works with the way we think.
